Trash Town is a black comedy, aims to be entertaining while delivering a globally-important and urgent message. This piece integrates actual scientific and statistical data and projections, and is presented in a fantasy/sci-fiction piece that is both funny and frightening. It is intended to be thought-provoking. The story surrounds Larry, a teenager, who had forgotten all about the school assembly presentation due the next day on environmental awareness. While rushing to complete his late-minute preparation for the presentation, Larry fell into a deep sleep. He had a dream of Sharifa, The Genie of the Plastic Bottle, who brought him into the future, a Singapore 50 years later. An earth that had been depleted and abused, where water, electricity and life became scare and vulnerable. This precious journey awakened Larry's consciousness of his responsibility and duty to the mother earth. Trash Town portrays a world that has been consumed by years of abuse and negligence, only if we have been more informed and proactive in conserving and preserving our natural resources. In response to the worldwide's calling to save our planet earth, Trash Town raises various issues such as waste recycling and energy conservation to protect our ecosystem.
